Two years on keto, -39 kg

Left, August 2014 - 95.2 kg. Right, summer 2016 - 56.25 kg

I stumbled upon keto on October 10, 2014. I was not looking for another diet, but the photos impressed me and I decided to start the same day to see if I had enough. During the first three days, I had a serious carbohydrate intake, and my general health was very poor. On the fourth day, I woke up feeling like a completely new person. Nine months later, I achieved my goal of losing 30 kg. Over the next nine months, I lost another 7 kg, and then added running and weightlifting to my schedule + made some amazing and inspiring friends at the gym.

I never talk about my diet unless someone asks (first rule of keto). When this happens, people most often say that such a diet has a lot of restrictions. I strongly disagree with this! Do you know what really can be called restrictions? Shortness of breath while climbing stairs, not being able to keep up with your child, being shy in photos, avoiding mirrors, hating buying new clothes ... Keto does not limit - it gives you much more freedom than I have ever experienced. Moreover, it is very tasty)

Mom of two children lost 15 kg

On the left is the worst photo in my album. It was my brother's wedding, 6 months have passed since my birth and I waited another 6 months to start keto because I was still breastfeeding.

Over the next six months after starting the ketogenic diet, I lost 55 kg, after which I was able to get pregnant again. I had gestational diabetes during both pregnancies, so even on a low-carb diet I needed insulin to control it. And as a result, with the help of insulin injections, I gained weight again.

This time I waited only 1 month and then switched back to keto. I reached my goals - pre-pregnancy weight (80 kg) and my wedding weight (74 kg) and finally my average normal weight (65 kg).

When my weight loss started to slow down and my calories were depleted, I added intermittent fasting. It helps me stick to my calories (around 1200-1300 per day). Each time the weight goes away more and more heavily, but I don’t give up - there are only about 6 kg left!

1 year and 36 kg later

I started on September 5, 2015 with a weight of 95 kg. After reaching the initial weight of the goal in June 2016, I continued, because what is the point of stopping if more can be achieved.

Never look back and believe in yourself)

Oh my God! This is so amazing! There are so many shirts and coats that I can finally buy myself: D!

10 months on keto = from 102 to 61 kg

I started keto in October 2014, but in fact most of the weight went away between October 2015 and July 2016 - 10 months. Around the same time, I had to deal with a very prolonged breakup in relationships and a whole bunch of life's things, and since then my weight has bounced from 61 to 64 kg. The lowest was 59 kg and I hope to return to it soon.

Things I would like to point out:

  • I began to freeze because I no longer have excess warming fat. Need more clothes and an electric blanket!
  • When I sit on hard surfaces, sometimes my butt hurts. Apparently it's because I used to have a fat pad,
and the gluteal muscles were not sufficiently developed to be cushioned. Need more squats!
  • Sugar / carbohydrate addiction is real and I am still struggling with it. Sometimes I really want candy and other stuff, but I hold on.
  • At my current weight, it is much easier to exercise and general physical activity. I really enjoy exercising and moving because I no longer carry a 40kg backpack with me.
  • Losing weight is much easier if you are supported by your family. I removed all carbohydrate foods from the kitchen, and my family supported me in this. In addition, recently my significant other has joined the keto lifestyle, for which I am very grateful to him) He has nothing to lose, but he felt a significant surge of energy during the day + the constant feeling of hunger disappeared.
  • Looking back at the photos of my progress, I cannot believe that I was once so huge. Amazingly, when I weighed 102 kg, I knew that I was big, but I did not see how much. Even now, at 63, I still feel pretty big for my height, and I still have a belly that I'm trying to get rid of.
  • Any diet, even as "restrictive" as keto, becomes easier if you stick to it. In the end, you will find many basic recipes that you enjoy and learn how to navigate a restaurant menu when choosing low-carb meals.
  • One of my biggest victories is being able to shop and buy clothes based on whether I like them and whether they suit me or not. It's such a good feeling to walk into a store and know that you have a lot to choose from, not just a few oversized options.
  • The ketogenic diet has a positive effect on autoimmune disease (eczema). I opted for keto for weight loss, but after a few months I realized that my skin was better than ever. This is an anti-inflammatory diet and I highly recommend trying it if you have inflammation issues.

As a result, keto completely changed my life for the better. If this is your first day, let me tell you: you can do it!

The guy and the girl lost 50 kg for two

My girlfriend and I sat down on keto on June 20, 2018, and here are our New Year's photos from last year and from this one. Our total weight lost was about 50 kg - 31 for me and about 19 for her. My girlfriend is very worried that she is not losing weight as quickly as I am 😀

More than 30 kg in 1 year

Left - December 2015. Right - November 2016

When I started, I weighed over 136 kg and went on a diet many times, lost weight, and then he came back. The keto diet has helped me succeed by keeping me from feeling constantly hungry or sluggish during a calorie deficit. Sorry for the quality of the photo)

Keto helps a loving father to cope with blood pressure and diabetes

The ketogenic diet made my life much better - in six months my weight dropped from 117 kg to 90 kg; I also stopped taking medication for diabetes and high blood pressure. I'm a happy 39 year old dad)

The keto diet helped a 33-year-old girl with thyroid disease

I started in August 2017 and although my progress has slowed down over time, it is still moving and I feel great. At the age of 19, I was diagnosed with autoimmune inflammation of the thyroid gland, and I have always struggled with fatigue, obesity and other problems of this disease. This is the first time that I feel good.

Keto helps 33-year-old mom believe in herself

My name is Kira, I am a 33-year-old mom and a housewife. Since September 2017, I have lost 59 kg on the keto diet and would like to share my story with you. Thank you so much for your time!

All my life I hated my body. I looked for ways to change and hide it, all the while not realizing that the only way to be happy is to love yourself. When I started to struggle with being overweight, I started thinking about my daughters (I have three-year-old twins and an 11-year-old teenage girl) and how ashamed they should be for their “fat” mother.

I noticed that they were looking at me ... learning how they should relate to their body ... wondering what value they would bring to this world ... and basing this conclusion on how I felt about my body. It struck me to the core. The problem was not with my body ... it was all about poor self-esteem and self-doubt. There is nothing shameful about the size of the body.I knew that losing weight without self-love would do nothing. So, I ended the war with my body.

I focused on creating sustainable, easily maintained habits. The ketogenic diet fit so naturally into my lifestyle because, unlike other low-carb diets, I felt good.

When I started this keto journey on September 12, 2017, I would tell you that losing 59 kg would be my biggest achievement. But I would be wrong. On this journey, I found my inner strength. I overcame debilitating anxiety and mood swings. I discovered a passion for hiking and exploration. I got my life back.

I'm not chasing a fancy diet - I just want to feel truly happy in my own skin. And to show my girls that their value in this world will never be determined by the size of their bodies.

Keto cures 40-year-old man with diabetes, epilepsy and obesity

My weight and health are out of control. My doctor said I had diabetes and sent me to diabetes and nutrition classes. They were interesting and I learned a lot, but the calorie restriction diet didn't work.

I am a "carbohydrate addict". Potatoes, macaroni and cheese, bread, all kinds of sweets are drugs for me. Also, I do not know how to control portions - since childhood I have become accustomed to large portions of hearty food. If I had a holiday, I would eat. If I was depressed, I would eat. If I was bored, I ate.

It got worse. I have a genetic form of epilepsy that did not manifest until I was 40 years old. I started having very serious seizures. Medication didn't always save me, and after taking higher and higher doses of medication that made me dizzy, confused, poor memory, poor eyesight, and depression, my neurologist told me that I should try keto.

The more I learned about the keto diet, the more confident I became that I had found a solution to my problem. It took me four days to enter ketosis and after nine months I lost 32 kg. I feel amazing. I had two keto buddies who lost over 40 kg in the same period of time. My seizures and epilepsy symptoms are under control. My blood glucose remains stable at around 5.3 mmol / L, and before I started the diet my level was 7.2 mmol / L. I think faster, I feel full, and my general health and blood counts are excellent.

Then I started meditating and embarked on my new goal of gaining 9 kg of muscle, while losing another 4 kg of fat, and keto again helps me with this.

Yes, I am still addicted to carbohydrates and sometimes it is very difficult - especially when I feel like macaroni and cheese. It was hard to study my body and what food affects me differently than others. My advice: stick to a ketogenic diet, it really works. Don't be discouraged if you don't succeed, you will find the right foods and menus to help you reach your goal.

On a keto diet, Lyudmila got rid of knee pain and excess weight

Hey! My name is Lyudmila, I am 37 years old.

I am a mother of two children. There was an interval of only 13 months between pregnancies, so the weight that I put on never decreased. Since my second child was born (over three years ago!), I have never lost weight.

I started the keto diet on June 10, 2018. A few weeks before I started, I felt that it was difficult for me to go up the stairs (this happened every time). I also noticed that my knees start to hurt when walking down the stairs, this was something new. After that, I realized that I needed to change something. As the pain in my knee worsened as I descended the stairs, I had to hold onto the railing, and this continued for a week or two. During this time, I searched the Internet for "how to lose weight", "fast weight loss" ... whatever you can think of.

Somehow I stumbled upon this site, success stories and photographs made me believe in my strength. Reading the stories of other people, I got more and more inspiration and courage: “I can do it!”. So, finally, I made up my mind. I followed meal plans, picked out the keto recipes I thought I liked, and made sure to drink a mug of broth a day. Luckily, I didn't have any side symptoms, so to cope with the two-week trial, I found a few recipes that I liked and just kept making them over and over.

By the end of two weeks, I couldn't believe that I no longer want to snack on bread, candy and sweets. My knee / joint pain disappeared after a few days (definitely by the end of the first week). I don't know how much weight I lost during this time, but after two weeks I knew that the ketogenic diet was to my taste!

In the first two months, I lost 9 kg. By December 2018 (six months later) I had lost another 9 kg, just 18. At the time of writing my story, February 2019, and I have lost 27 kg since starting the diet. I am so glad that I stumbled upon the KetoDieto website one day when I needed it the most.

I'm so glad I took the risk. I am so glad that I am much healthier and happier. I'm better. I look better. Things fit me better. I had to buy a lot of new clothes, but this is my reward for a job well done! This is not a diet, but a complete lifestyle change. There are so many delicious and wonderful recipes on keto that you don't need to feel left out or like you're missing out. Don't miss your chance, you will be glad you made up your mind!

100 days and -23 kg later

I've been on a strict keto diet for 104 days! It was tough, but I never tried to cheat with carbohydrates (although in some cases I exceeded calories, especially those associated with wine).

I do not specifically (due to lack of hunger) observe intermittent fasting between 9:00 pm and 1:00 pm, and I usually eat soup for lunch, some cheese for a snack, then meat and cauliflower or broccoli puree overnight. I love making chocolate muffins with almond flour and flax (for my daily fiber requirement), and I can't live without dark chocolate - 85% cocoa minimum, more is better.

I can't believe how quickly the first 20 kg went, but I know that the next 20 will be a little more difficult. Fortunately, I am on the right track to my goal!

The keto diet helped a woman with PCOS lose weight

A bit of background: the first photo was taken shortly before I started my keto diet in August 2017. I have PCOS, and my biggest weight is just over 130 kg.

I went on a keto diet on 08/15/17, after several years of failed IVF treatment and almost 10 years of infertility.

Keto immediately changed the way I looked and felt. It was, and still is, unlike anything I've ever tried. After 6 months of lazy keto lifestyle, I got pregnant naturally but suffered an early miscarriage. This negatively affected my weight loss, but after several weeks of depression I managed to pull myself together.

After that point, losing weight was much more difficult, but I tried to be as committed to keto as possible, because thanks to this diet I felt much better. After 7 months, I got pregnant again. But this time it was ectopia. It was a terrible blow, but after a while my husband and I returned to keto again.

Thus, I lost about 20 kg in a year, and over the next year I maintained a new weight. So if you are in the same position and wondering if you should do it, I ask you to try it. Seeing that the new diet has a positive effect on my health, the other 6 members of my family decided to try it too, and now they feel healthier than ever.

With the help of keto, the girl was able to lose weight, get rid of infertility and give birth to twins

I started keto a little over 3 years ago when I saw one of their success stories and photos of progress. As a result, I lost 36 kg in 7-8 months.I had problems with infertility and had to lose weight to continue my treatment. It was a bit of a boomerang, since I got pregnant (with twins) and during pregnancy gained almost all the weight back, but once again dropped it 3-4 months after giving birth.

It was a constant struggle last year. I was ready to give up and quit. I have about 22 kg left until I feel comfortable. And so I took up keto again, and had already thrown off 4 kg. Thank goodness the scale is moving again! It helps me to keep fighting and not lose heart)

Lost 60 kg on keto in a year and a half

I recently turned 27 years old, and for the first time I felt like my own age, and not like an old woman with numerous health problems. This morning I took pictures of my progress, and by moving them into the folder with the results of losing weight, I looked at the pictures from the moment when I weighed 160 kg, and I began to cry. I cried because in those photos I was dying - and I didn't even know that I was in trouble.

The weight loss was amazing, but right now my keto journey is not about weight loss, but about overall health. Every day I work to live a healthier life, and I am confident that my body will naturally find the weight at which it is happy. I don't track macros anymore, I just follow a moderate keto diet. I eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full (for the first time in my life). I started powerlifting, I train for triathlon, and every morning I spend a few hours in the gym - otherwise I think I would have too much energy to focus on anything.

My body reacts to this in the best possible way. Just yesterday, I ran my fastest 5K - 6 minutes faster than when I was in high school, and had to run to train as an athlete. Despite the fact that I am not a fast runner, the gap of 30 minutes has become a big deal for me. I cycled 40 km last Saturday, and I will repeat this in a week and then again and again. Before keto, my heart rate was always around 80 b / s with relatively constant bouts of tachycardia. Now my heart rate is 55 at rest.

Thanks to keto and everyone who supported me. If you feel like keto is getting monotonous, or you never get what you want, take a photo of your progress and see what happened in the beginning. You deserve the very best 🙂

Lost 50 kg on keto, overcame depression and believed in myself

Because of being overweight, I was very unhappy almost all my life ... I have always struggled with depression, but in my teens it reached its peak. By the age of 21, I almost gave up life and just accepted that I would be sad and fat forever. I reached my final point just before starting keto, but before that I had been thinking a lot about suicide, and the only reason I didn't do it was because I had pets and had to take care of them.

In the end, I came across articles on the keto diet. I saw all the photos, posts and people who were as big as me, if not more, and who lost weight, and I was inspired by them. Of course, in my life I have tried all the diets I know, but for the first time I began to seriously decrease the weight on keto. I was so happy that I couldn't believe it. I began to lose more and more, and I became happier and happier. Suddenly life stopped feeling so bad, and for the first time I wanted to live for real ... I wanted an amazing life where I can do whatever I want. I never saw a future for myself, but now I have a million dreams and things that I want to achieve. I still struggle with depression sometimes because it was very difficult physically and emotionally ... But I can handle it.

I was especially struck by the various little things about keto: go to the store and buy things that really suit me; walk up the stairs and not choke; wrap your body in a regular size towel; sit on a chair and not be afraid if he can stand me. Things that are pretty mundane to other people made me so happy and gave me a lot of incentive to keep going.

Now I still have about 30 kg overweight, but I'm sure I can do it! I feel like I've come such a long way that 30 kg is a little thing for me. I can't wait to be able to do it 🙂
